Is it possible to run a marathon without feet?
I feel like I could handle this marathon thing a lot better if I did not have feet. Well, actually, if I did not have my feet. I just cannot seem to fix this blister problem, despite trying all the tricks and following all the suggestions that I have found.
Last Saturday’s long run was 12 miles, another cut-back. It would have been entirely doable without incident had it not been so outrageously humid. With the heat and humidity come sweatier feet, and, in turn, more blisters.
As a result, it was another excruciatingly slow run which took about 30 minutes longer than it should have. I did have some nice company in the form of Ernie Harwell on my iPod, though. I listened to his new audio book, which chronicles the important moments of his long career and includes audio clips of him calling the events.
I am very proud of you for trying at all. I’ll do my best to help you find a solution for your blisters.
Amputation sounds like a good idea in the long run.

I’m so sorry about your blister problem. I have been there too. It seems once the area gets going, its hard to get it to calm down enough to heal (especially when you keep running). I finally put some moleskin over each area and just left it there for about 3 days. I skipped a short run to give them a little more time too. Finally got them calmed down. I hope you can get it under control!
Good luck with your training. Really enjoy your bullet points — may have to steal it sometime!
