My brother, who lives in New Jersey, just decided to sign up for the Chicago Marathon, too! He has run a marathon before, so I am sure I will be able to learn a lot from him. He said he was considering ordering this shirt which says “training for the Chicago Marthon.” Maybe I will get one too.
Also, thank you to my sister who became the first person to donate to Team in Training on my behalf.
Today my husband, sister, mom, and I participated in the 8k Shamrock Shuffle here in Chicago. It goes all throughout downtown is my favorite race (this is my third year). It was unseasonably warm this year (last year the starting temp was 44) and was approximately 70 degrees by the race end. I found myself wishing that the “possible showers” would arrive to cool me off. It was my husband’s first race as a runner (he did the 5k walk last year) and I really enjoyed doing the race with him.
